A few issues….

By admin • février 20th, 2007

I have some bad times these days:

  • My provider cut my account several times, due to an overload in SQL database usage! This happens three times, and I do not understand where does this overload come from! (but is there any quota that can be set on MySql by an admin for a shared hosting?)
  • I’ve changed my PC, reinstalled everything. The bad news is that obfuscation does not work anymore! I am investigating, but I can not regenrate production version of J2memap for the moment
  • Google map changed once again the API version, so some older version are not working any more! If this happens, enable the “use proxy” mode…

Also, I plan to do a longuer report about 3gsmand LBSChallenge later this week!

Hi,

a provider can limit max_questions, max_updates and max_connections (per hour) in mysql.
Does the “Friends…”-Feature use this database?

Hello Schiermi,

It seems that the issue was more the time used by the request more than the number of request!
But yes, it was used by the friends feature (which is still an ongoing feature)

Why?

Hello Tom,

the friends feature comes first in my mind because I think many new users just walk through all the functions and try them out. The friends-feature was always some kind of slow-going in my opinion.

btw: a configurable target-URL for publishing the actual position would be really a nice feature! :)

Hello Schiermi.

About your last idea, do you have a protocol in mind for publishing the URL? Or just something like: ?lat=myLat&lon=mylon
